The number of flights managed by ENAIRE in February was 6.2% higher than in 2024, a record year
ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, managed nearly 160,000 flights (158,755) in February 2025, 6.2% more than in the same month in 2024, a record year.
All ENAIRE control centres saw increases in the number of flights of more than 4%
In February, overflights (flights that do not depart from or arrive at a Spanish airport) totalled 39,205, 8.4% more than in the same month last year. International flights (86,123) were up by 7.7%, and domestic flights (33,427) by 0.1%.
This growth in air traffic in Spain in February exceeds by almost 4 percentage points (3.9%) the European average, which stands at 2.3%, and is 22 percentage points higher compared to the same month in 2019 (before the COVID pandemic), which was at -3.6%.
All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed of more than 4%: Barcelona registered 67,367 flights (+10.5%); Palma, 13,474 (+9.1%); Seville, 39,327 (+7.6%); Madrid, 94,483 (+4.7%) and the Canary Islands, 35,059 (+4.6%).

In the first two months of the year, ENAIRE managed nearly 320,000 flights (319,078), 6.2% more than in the same period in 2024. Overflights between January and February (79,180) increased by 8.2%; international flights (172,447) by 7.0% and domestic flights (67,451) by 1.8%.
This growth in air traffic in Spain so far this year exceeds the European average, which is 3.8%, by 2.4 percentage points, and is 19.1 percentage points higher compared to the same period in 2019, which was -4.6%.
The cumulative data for the year also show that all ENAIRE control centres registered an increase (of over 4%) in the number of flights managed: Barcelona, 134,892, 9.1% more than in 2024; Seville, 79,042, 7.4% more; Canary Islands, 72,121, 6.8% more; Palma, 26,122, 5.8% more; and Madrid, 189,621, 4.7% more.
