Antoni Capó Bennasar

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, specialising in Air Traffic and Navigation. 

He began his career as an engineer in Airbus, in the A320 series’ design department. 

In 2005, he joined Aena's Air Navigation Department as a maintenance and technical operations engineer. He later worked in the ATC Airport Operations Management Division.

He became an air traffic controller in 2009 and was assigned to the control tower in Palma de Mallorca, where he has spent his entire professional career. He became tower supervisor in 2010, technical supervisor in 2012, and then tower manager from 2016 to 2019. The following noteworthy projects, among others, have been successfully carried out: the introduction of stripless system, A-CDM implementation in conjunction with the airport, and the development of new low visibility (LVP) and take-off procedures to increase take-off capacity in collaboration with the Palma Area Control Center.

He was appointed Director for the Balearic Islands Region on 1 April 2019.
