Mr Arrabal graduated from the University of Leon as an aerospace engineer and aeronautical technical engineer specialising in air navigation and traffic. He studied an International MBA in Air Transport Company Management through the UNED Distance Learning University, earning the qualification of university expert in Aeronautical Law and Aviation Safety.
He began his professional career as an engineer with the company BDE as part of the Spanish Air Force’s CX programme. He joined Aena in 1997 as an air navigation engineer in the CNS Systems Operation Engineering Department at the ENAIRE Control Centre in the Canary Islands.
In October 1999, he obtained the Air Traffic Controller qualification from SENASA and was posted to the ENAIRE Control Centre in the Canary Islands. He was appointed instructor in April 2004 and then supervisor, and in 2016 obtained the position of head of control room. During this time he engaged in redesign projects for the Canary Island airspace and later become the head of the Operational Support Department and head of the ATS Regional Division.
He was appointed Canary Islands Region Director in April 2017.
