ENAIRE managed 191,290 flights across Spain in September, a rise of 6.4%
4 years in a row of uninterrupted traffic grow
ENAIRE, the leading air navigation service provider in Spain and the fourth largest in Europe, managed 191,290 flights in September, 6.4% (11,519 flights) more than the same month last year.
Air traffic has now grown uninterruptedly over the past 4 years.
Of this total, 118,801 were international flights (+6.7%), 34,677 were domestic (+4.7%) and 37,812 were overflights (those that neither start nor end at a Spanish airport), which grew by 7.1%.

Traffic continued to grow strongly across all ENAIRE control centres: Seville (+9.5%, 35,130 flights), Madrid (+8%, 98,473 flights), Canaries (+7.3%, 26,187 flights), Palma (+5.3%, 38,817 flights) and Barcelona (+4.7%, 94,424).
2017 Cumulative Figures
ENAIRE managed 1,533,299 flights between January and September, 6.7% (96,112 flights) more than in the first 9 months of 2016. Spain therefore continues to grow much faster than the European average, which came in at 4.2%.
Of these, 926,205 were international flights (+7.4 %); 293,271 were domestic (+3.1 %) and 313,823 were overflights (+8%).
Cumulative traffic also rose across all control centres: Seville (+8.9 %, 289,881 flights), Madrid (+8.1 %, 824,337 flights), Canaries (+7.7 %, 241,481 flights), Palma (+5.7 %, 259,655 flights) and Barcelona (+5.6 %, 721,397).
