ENAIRE renews its annual commitment to culture through its Foundation
This year, ENAIRE is renewing its commitment to culture by awarding its Foundation the annual grant that allows it to pursue a broad programme of activities involving contemporary art and aeronautical culture.
Every year, the ENAIRE Foundation allocates ENAIRE's financial contribution to preserving and presenting to the public the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, as well as to promoting aeronautical culture by combining history and modernity to bring the world of aviation closer to the public.
ENAIRE's Board of Directors has approved the annual subsidy for its Foundation in the amount of 1,598,000 eurosNotable amongst the patronage activity carried out by the ENAIRE Foundation are the annual ENAIRE Awards (the only aeronautical awards presented in Spain) and the annual photography awards, which, thanks to the cultural partnership between the Foundation and various institutions, such as PhotoEspaña and the JustMad art fair, has been turned into an essential instrument for promoting the careers of photographers.
The ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, valued at 50 million euros, is an important public collection comprising almost 1,300 artworks in different disciplines (painting, sculpture, photography and multimedia art) created by renowned Spanish and Latin American artists from the second half of the 20th century to the present day.
New this year, ENAIRE has increased the endowment for the Foundation by 100,000 euros over previous years through a budget item intended for the activity of the ENAIRE art collection's new permanent home in the Naves de Gamazo in Santander, which is scheduled to be inaugurated and opened to the public on 2 July.
In addition, ENAIRE plans to double this allocation for the Naves de Gamazo in 2022, thus totalling 200,000 euros, an amount that will be maintained in subsequent fiscal years and which will allow the operating expenses of this new cultural infrastructure to be financed equally together with the Government of Cantabria and the Port Authority of Santander.
