Twelve projects subsidised by ENAIRE yielded 450 new employment contracts for people with disabilities
ENAIRE, the national air navigation service provider, has subsidised 12 projects from foundations and associations declared to be in the public interest, which resulted in 450 employment contracts for people with disabilities all over Spain during the first call, which was published in Spain's Official State Gazette on 8 October 2019.
The winning companies carried out their projects between July 2020 and February 2022 in Andalusia, Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, the Canary Islands, the Community of Valencia, the Balearic Islands and Murcia. Through specific training measures, internships and job placement services, they were able to improve the employability and skills of 1,200 people.
Of the participants, 450 signed work contracts, 63 of which were in the aviation sector.
The final beneficiaries of the guidance, training and job placement activities provided by the companies were people with different types of disabilities - intellectual, physical, sensory, auditory, autism spectrum disorder, etc. - who had unique problems finding employment.
Having a job is an essential step in improving their autonomy and confidence and, ultimately, in integrating fully into society.
These projects also had a very positive impact on the families of the people with disabilities and on the companies and their workers, who have been able to confirm first-hand that a person with disabilities can perform various jobs in a perfectly normal and efficient way.
The amount granted by ENAIRE was 697,122 euros, and the winning entities that completed their projects are:
- Fundación Amadip.Esment.
- Fundación Asido Cartagena.
- Asprona Valencia.
- Asociación Estel de Llevant.
- Asociación Envera.
- Fundación Funcasor.
- Fundación Adecco.
- Fundación APASCOVI.
- Fundación Carmen Pardo-Valcarce (A LA PAR).
- Fundación Privada Prevent.
- Fundación PRODE.
- Fundación Randstad.
ENAIRE accepts the challenge and continues to explore ways to analyse new opportunities to help find jobs in the aviation sector for more people with disabilities, thus expanding the diversity of its workforce.
To this end, this programme encourages hiring through special employment centres, it considers potential positions in the aviation industry through CERMI, and a second call for grants of 690,228 euros has been published, thanks to which 11 companies are currently carrying out their projects.
