ENAIRE managed nearly 205,000 flights in October, 7.3% more than in 2022
ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, managed nearly 205,000 flights (204,793) in October, 7.3% more than in the same month in 2022. Of those, 118,695 were international (+8.3%), 46,521 were overflights (which do not land at or depart from a Spanish airport) (+7.9%), and 39,577 were domestic (+3.9%).
All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed: Madrid recorded 109,992 flights (8.2%); Barcelona, 98,033 (7.3%); Seville, 45,857 (5.1%); Canary Islands, 32,767 (5.0%); and Palma, 35,359 (1.9%).
A comparison between September 2023 and the same month in 2019, a record year for flights managed by ENAIRE before the pandemic, shows a 6.6% increase.

In the first ten months of the year, ENAIRE managed over 1.8 million flights (1,869,509), almost 11% more than in the same period in 2022 (10.9%).
Overflights from January to October (430,605) increased by 17.4%, international flights (1,063,237) by 9.7% and domestic flights (375,667) by 7.2%.
By control centre, the cumulative figures for Seville stand out, with 418,580 flights managed, a 14.1% increase; Barcelona with 896,342, 11.1% more; and Madrid, with over a million flights (1,006,655), 11.0% more.
A comparison between the totals for 2023 and the same period in 2019 shows an increase of 0.9%.

ENAIRE, as the entity appointed by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda to implement the U-space system in Spain, will be the provider of the Common Information Services (CIS), which are essential for administering U-space services to drones and Urban Air Mobility, in interaction with local air traffic control services, so that all types of aircraft can fly safely in the same airspace.
ENAIRE has received the highest score in Europe on the aviation safety key performance indicator. It has also been awarded the EFQM 500 Seal for its safe, efficient, innovative and sustainable management of air navigation services.
