The ENAIRE Foundation signs a partnership with Ellas Vuelan Alto to enhance the value that women provide to aeronautics
The ENAIRE Foundation has signed a partnership with Ellas Vuelan Alto (Women Fly High - EVA) to enhance the value that women provide to aeronautics.
This collaboration will being at FITEA, the Innovation, Talent and Aerospace Education Forum organised by Ellas Vuelan Alto and Virtual Educa, and where the ENAIRE Foundation will be present. It should be noted that with this cooperation, the ENAIRE Foundation is joining the 70+ companies that already support EVA in its mission to promote equality in the aerospace sector.

Support for aeronautical culture
For Margarita Asuar, the managing director of the ENAIRE Foundation, “Science and art are closer than they appear; science explains the world and art helps us understand it. At the ENAIRE Foundation, we support the dissemination of science and aeronautical culture, so society can learn about the wide variety of occupations in this sector, which is a driver of technological development, starting with the application of drones in a wide range of fields. For example, in the art sector, we are taking photographs and videos with drones, developing new technological resources that democratise access to art so that exhibitions can be enjoyed from anywhere. And, of course, we support entities that work to showcase the talent of women, without excluding but without being excluded, because society can't afford to lose 50% of its talent".
For her part, the president of Ellas Vuelan Alto, Gema Martín del Burgo, says that there is a lack of women in the aviation industry right now, and that the institution she chairs is working to ensure that there is genuine parity: “Currently, the aviation sector is only 20% women, and it has been like this for many years. Which is why at EVA, we think it is essential to work toward equality in this industry; equality that could also be one of the main solutions for the lack of talent currently being experienced by the sector”.
Gema Martín del Burgo also thanked the ENAIRE Foundation for its support: “It is very satisfying to see important entities like the ENAIRE Foundation join our efforts. There is still a long way to go, but we are confident that, thanks to the more than 70 organisations that have already joined Ellas Vuelan Alto, and those that will join in the future, the journey will be shorter and easier”.

Ellas Vuelan Alto
Ellas Vuelan Alto (EVA) was created in 2018 to promote equality in the aerospace sector by showcasing the work of women in Spain. It involves institutions, universities, businesses, and public administrations, and is based on the equality declaration of the United Nations Charter.
About ENAIRE Foundation
Is a cultural institution of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility that, in addition to managing, preserving and exhibiting the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, engages in a comprehensive annual programme of activities that focus on aeronautical art and culture. Notably, it is one of the institutions that currently provides the most support to photography through its annual prizes - which have become a benchmark for professional photographers - and by hosting exhibits.
It is the only foundation in Spain that combines the two seemingly disparate themes of art and aeronautical culture, bringing them together by undertaking a programme of activities that promote the study, research, knowledge and dissemination of aeronautical culture, integrating history and modernity to raise awareness of the world of aviation in our country.
The Naves de Gamazo are the first permanent home of the ENAIRE Collection of Contemporary Art, an example of collaboration between government agencies that was made possible thanks to the partnership and joint efforts of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Government of Cantabria, through the Office for Culture, Tourism and Sport, and the Port Authority of Santander, which share the operating expenses of the centre in order to ensure the present and future viability of this cultural project.
ENAIRE Foundation is implementing digital museum resources to boost the democratisation of art and make it accessible from anywhere in the world. These new museum resources are now available on the Foundation's website.
