The number of flights managed by ENAIRE in January was 6.2% higher than in 2024, a record year
ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, managed over 160,000 flights (160,323) in January, 6.2% more than in the same month in 2024, a record year.
Overflights grow by 8.0%, international flights by 6.4% and domestic flights by 3.6% compared to the same month last year
Overflights, those that do not depart from or arrive at a Spanish airport, increased by 8.0% compared to January 2024 (39,975); international flights by 6.4% (86,324) and domestic flights by 3.6% (34,024).
The increase in air traffic in Spain in January compared to the same month last year exceeds the European average, which stands at 5.2%, by one percentage point, although the difference in recovery compared to 2019 has risen by 16.6%.
All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed: The Canary Islands registered 37,062 flights (9.0% more than in January 2024); Barcelona, 67,525 (+7.8%); Seville, 39,715 (+7.2%); Madrid, 95,138 (+4.7%); and Palma, 12,648 (+2.6%).
