The Air-Hostess Awards present ENAIRE the Business Quality Award
ENAIRE, the national air navigation service provider, has been honoured with the Business Quality Award at the 5th Air-Hostess Aviation Awards, organised by the Official School for Cabin Crew Training. At a ceremony held in Oviedo attended by key figures from the aviation sector, Air-Hostess recognised ENAIRE’s work and its commitment to safety, innovation and efficiency, which has been essential in ensuring safe and efficient air traffic management in one of Europe’s busiest airspaces.
The award recognises ENAIRE as an organisation that upholds the highest standards in safety, innovation and efficiency
The award was accepted by ENAIRE’s Director of Communications, Mariano Gasparet, and the Head of the Sustainability and Institutional Relations Division, Estíbaliz Salazar.
The Air-Hostess Awards highlighted how ENAIRE, through its strong commitment to technological innovation, digitisation and sustainability, has implemented cutting-edge systems that optimise air traffic management, improve punctuality and reduce aviation’s environmental impact. Its leadership in the sector’s modernisation has enabled ENAIRE to take part in international projects shaping the future of air navigation, consolidating Spain’s position as a benchmark in air traffic management.
The Business Quality category also serves to highlight how crucial ENAIRE’s work is to aviation, ensuring that every operation is carried out to the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency, thanks as well to its network of technologically advanced facilities and highly qualified team.
Operational excellence of ENAIRE
According to the jury’s decision, ENAIRE is deserving of the Business Quality Award for its operational excellence, commitment to safety, and contribution to the development of the aviation sector.
During the award ceremony, the head of ENAIRE’s Sustainability and Institutional Relations Division, Estíbaliz Salazar, expressed her gratitude for a recognition “that is the result of the work of the more than 4,200 people who make up ENAIRE, who have made this Business Quality Award possible and who, day by day, enable us to provide excellent services to our clients—airports, airlines, general aviation, crews, new entrants—as well as to society as a whole”.
Estíbaliz Salazar also highlighted the significance of this award coinciding with ENAIRE’s tenth anniversary, “which strengthens our position as one of the key players in the civil aviation sector in Spain and Europe”. In this regard, it is worth noting that in 2024, ENAIRE managed 2.36 million flights—7.6% more than in 2023, and a 9.7% increase compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019. And in 2025, the traffic figures are trending even higher, with ENAIRE managing over half a million flights in just the first quarter—6.3% more than in the same period in 2024, a record year.
"This volume of flights and the more than 300 million passengers annually taking off or landing at Spanish airports, in addition to those flying over Spanish airspace, represent a huge responsibility, and are our reason for being. They are precisely the ones who drive us to give our best to ensure the safety, efficiency and sustainability of operations", noted ENAIRE's spokesperson.
