The Spanish Air and Space Force honours ENAIRE for its innovation in digital transformation
The Digital Transformation and Data Governance Division at ENAIRE, the national air navigation service provider, has received an award from the Spanish Air and Space Force in recognition of its outstanding work in digital transformation.
At a ceremony held on 25 June at Cuatro Vientos, ENAIRE’s Director of Systems, José Luis Rodríguez Castro, accepted the award on behalf of his team. The honour highlights ENAIRE’s commitment to technological innovation and continuous improvement in airspace management, contributing to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable aviation.
“This award recognises the commitment of our entire team, who work every day to drive innovation in air navigation management. We will continue to champion digital transformation as a driver of progress and efficiency in our sector”, said Rodríguez Castro.
The award-winning project, titled “Executive Dashboard for the Benefits of Automated and Robotised Processes”, reflects ENAIRE’s strong commitment to the digitalisation and automation of its operations. This initiative enables the organisation to optimise the management of benefits resulting from automated and robotised processes, providing a comprehensive, real-time view to support strategic decision-making.
Juan Ángel Treceño, ENAIRE’s Director of Civil-Military Coordination, stated that “with this award, our organisation reaffirms its commitment to innovation and excellence, strengthening its position as a benchmark in digital transformation within the field of air traffic management in Spain”.
The Air and Space Force Awards have been held annually since 1978. Their aims include raising public awareness of the institution within Spanish society, promoting aerospace culture, sharing the values of the Air and Space Force, and supporting artistic creation in its various forms.
Other disciplines recognised by the Air and Space Force include artistic and literary creation, aerospace research and innovation, aerospace modelling, aerospace photography and imagery, articles published in the Aeronautics and Astronautics Journal, as well as the promotion of aerospace culture and values through sport.

Benefits of an automated balanced scorecard
ENAIRE’s project aims to create a dashboard that facilitates project monitoring, enabling each manager to review processes, progress, and maintenance within their area of responsibility.
Its advantages include a significant reduction in manual effort, the provision of accurate and up-to-date information on a daily and real-time basis, minimised human error in document generation, and easier access to data for analysis. All of this supports the development of strategies for better business management, as well as the creation of company-requested performance indicators using the collected information to enable more efficient operations.
