ENAIRE to showcase its EYWA network status monitoring platform and a space dedicated to drone activities at Fitur 26
The shock caused by the railway accident in Adamuz (Córdoba) has marked the course of FITUR 2026 since its official opening last Wednesday, 21 January. ENAIRE suspended all activity at its stand during the official mourning period, which ended at midnight last night, Thursday, and has resumed its programme from today through to the close of the event on Sunday the 25th.
At the world’s leading tourism trade fair, the state air navigation service provider is presenting the improvements included in its new strategic plan for the next five years. Known as the “2030 Flight Plan”, this roadmap has been adopted by ENAIRE to ensure it remains a driver of the economy and employment and a key lever for the tourism sector.
ENAIRE’s activity has a direct knock-on effect on tourism, an industry that contributes 12.6% of Gross Domestic Product, equivalent to 200.699 billion euros, and more than 2.7 million jobs, representing 12.3% of total employment, according to the latest estimates published by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE).
As regards the relationship between aviation and tourism in Spain, it is worth recalling that in 2025, the number of flights managed by ENAIRE reached 2,470,604, an increase of 4.7% compared with 2024. Of these, a total of 1,431,277 were international flights, up 5.6% year on year. It should also be noted that this sustained growth in tourism has been accompanied by the highest quality rating from its clients, at 81%, for the third consecutive year.
The 2030 Flight Plan is structured around six strategic objectives: to continue strengthening safety across all air navigation procedures; to keep improving the quality and resilience of services; to provide a new boost to the sustainable mobility strategy, including facilitating the entry of new participants such as drones, and contributing to decarbonisation and the mitigation of its acoustic footprint.
ENAIRE’s Chief Executive Officer, Enrique Maurer, highlighted the robustness of the 2030 Flight Plan as a lever for the sector, stating: “ENAIRE’s Strategic Plan, which enjoys the confidence of our stakeholders, will allow us to continue to play a leading role in the air navigation sector in Europe and to respond to the needs of the tourism sector in the coming years, with the highest standards of efficiency, safety and sustainability”.
Enrique Maurer also emphasised the involvement and commitment of ENAIRE’s more than 4,400 employees as a key factor in the success of a plan that follows a very positive management track record.
ENAIRE's stand
This year at Fitur, under the slogan "Behind every flight, making your destination possible", ENAIRE is presenting EYWA, the real-time supervision platform for the ENAIRE Network, designed to provide comprehensive information for monitoring network status and to support the digital transformation of operational supervision.
In addition, ENAIRE will present to visitors the latest advances in the development of drone operations and Urban Air Mobility (U-space). ENAIRE will make it easier to disseminate static and dynamic data, enabling the provision of U-space services for drone traffic management, once it is certified as the Single Common Information Service Provider in Spain. In line with this role, it will be the sole body in Spain responsible for providing, in a unified digital format, information on geographical areas designated as U-space.
Another key aspect of ENAIRE's stand is the presentation of audiovisual material on different aspects of its activity, most notably its ENAIRE Drones application, and ENAIRE Planea, for planning drone operations safely.
At this year’s Fitur, visitors to the ENAIRE stand will have access to a dedicated area for drone activities, where they can operate them safely. ENAIRE is collaborating on this initiative, which aims to raise public awareness that a drone is not a toy and must be operated responsibly within the limits of the applicable regulations.
Meanwhile, the ENAIRE Foundation will make 3D glasses available, offering immersive experiences of works from the ENAIRE Collection of contemporary art and the collection of historic aeronautical scale models, as well as the ENAIRE Foundation's exhibitions.
Pavilion 10
Visitors to Pavilion 10 at IFEMA can find the joint stand of the group of companies under the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, which is attending Fitur 26 under the slogan “Connections that matter”. Alongside the Ministry’s central stand, ENAIRE, Aena, Adif, Renfe, Ports of the State and the National Geographic Information Centre share the exhibition space.
The joint stand will feature a screen that answers visitors’ general questions about the activities of the different companies within the Ministry.
