ENAIRE, in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is launching a course, Fundamentals and Planning of Air Navigation Services Specialist

ENAIRE has launched, together with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a course on Fundamentals and Planning of Air Navigation Services Specialist, available online in English.

The course leads to an ENAIRE certificate accredited by the ICAO Trainair Plus Programme, which represents the next step in the internationalisation of the ENAIRE Campus's training products.

The programme lasts three and a half months (from 8 April to 10 July) with a total of 145 contact hours. It is structured into seven units:

- Fundamentals of air transport

- Introduction to the Air Navigation System (ANS)

- Legal and institutional framework

- Programmes and plans

- Planning of the Air Navigation System (ANS)

- Management systems

- Managerial skills

The programme is aimed at professionals in the aviation sector: air navigation service providers, airlines, airport managers, regulators, military authorities, weather service providers, as well as the technology industry, consultants and other professionals interested in the sector.

Upon completion of this ENAIRE specialist's course, candidates will obtain a broad strategic and management overview that will let them understand air navigation services and the challenges of managing air navigation.

The faculty is made up of a team of highly qualified professionals from ENAIRE, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the field of aviation.

Classes will be streamed Mondays and Wednesdays from 14:00 to 18:30, and Fridays from 14:00 to 16:15 (CET). Recordings of the classes can also be accessed at any time.

This course has a registration fee of 3,600 dollars, although this year its cost will be 3,000 dollars, as this is the first edition. Pre-registration, which is open through 30 March, can be accessed via this link: ICAO Training - Fundamentals and Planning of Air Navigation Services Specialist.

Persons wishing to take the course must first undergo a professional interview in English.

About ICAO

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a United Nations body that helps 193 countries to cooperate together and share their skies to their mutual benefit.

Since it was established in 1944, ICAO’s support and coordination has helped countries to diplomatically and technically realize a uniquely rapid and dependable network of global air mobility, connecting families, cultures, and businesses all over the world, and promoting sustainable growth and socio-economic prosperity wherever aircraft fly.

As it enters a new era of digitization, and of incredible new flight and propulsion innovations, air transport is relying more than ever on ICAO’s expert support and technical and diplomatic guidance to help chart a new and exciting future for international flight. ICAO is innovating itself to answer this call, and expanding its partnerships among UN and technical stakeholders to deliver a strategic global vision and effective, sustainable solutions.

ICAO's vision is to achieve the sustainable development of the global civil aviation system, and its mission is to serve as the global forum of States for international civil aviation. ICAO develops policies and standards, undertakes compliance audits, performs studies and analyses, provides assistance and builds aviation capacity through the cooperation of its Member States and stakeholders.

About ENAIRE

ENAIRE is the air navigation service provider in Spain.

As a company of the Ministry of Sustainable Transport and Mobility, it provides en route control services for all flights and overflights from five control centres in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Gran Canaria and Palma, as well as approach services to every airport in the country.

In addition, 46 airports receive communication, navigation and surveillance services from ENAIRE, which also maintains their air traffic control systems, and 21 of them, including the country's busiest airports, rely on its aerodrome air traffic control services.

ENAIRE is Europe's fourth largest air traffic manager and participates in the A6 Alliance, a coalition of air navigation providers responsible for over 80% of European air traffic, and which is seeking to modernise the air traffic management system. It is also a member of other international alliances promoting the Single European sky, such as SESAR Joint Undertaking, SESAR Deployment Manager, iTEC, CANSO and ICAO.

ENAIRE, as the responsible agency identified by the Ministry of Sustainable Transport and Mobility to implement the U-Space system in Spain, will, through its digital platform, provide the Common Information Services (CIS), which are essential to facilitate U-space services to drones and Urban Air Mobility in cooperation with local air traffic services, so that all types of aircraft can fly safely in the same airspace.

ENAIRE has received the highest score in Europe on the aviation safety key performance indicator for four years in a row. It has also been awarded the EFQM 500 Seal for its safe, efficient, innovative and sustainable management of air navigation services.
