ENAIRE managed over half a million flights in the first quarter
ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, handled over half a million flights (504,385) in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 6.3% versus the same period in 2024, a record year.
In March, ENAIRE managed over 185,000 flights, 6.7% more than in the same month in 2024
In the first three months of the year, international flights (275,973) increased by 7.7%; overflights, those that do not depart from or arrive at a Spanish airport (122,616), by 7.5%; and domestic flights (105,796) by 1.8%.
All ENAIRE control centres saw increases in the number of flights operated in the first quarter of 2025 of more than 4% compared to the previous year; Barcelona, 214,628, 9.3% more than in 2024; Seville, 123,425, 7.2% more; Canary Islands, 112,062, 6.4% more; Palma, 43,888, 5.1% more; and Madrid, 297,462, 4.7% more.
Traffic growth in Spain exceeds the European quarterly average (4.1%) by 2.2 percentage points compared to 2024, and by nearly 20 points compared to the same period in 2019 (–3.9%), before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In March 2025, ENAIRE managed over 185,000 flights (185,307), 6.7% more than in the same month in 2024.
In March 2025, there were 103,526 international flights, 8.8% more than in the same month in the previous year. Overflights (43,436) increased by 6.3%; and domestic flights (38,345) by 1.7%.
The increase in air traffic in Spain in March exceeded the European average by 2.1 percentage points (which stands at 4.6%), and by 20.8 percentage points compared to the same month in 2019 (–2.6%).
In March 2025, all ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed of more than 4%: Barcelona registered 79,736 flights (+9.5%); Seville, 44,383 (+6.9%); Canary Islands, 39,941 (+5.5%); Madrid, 107,841 (+4.8%) and Palma, 17,766 (+4.1%).
