ENAIRE continues to manage more and more flights, with an increase of 5.9% in April over 2024, a record year
ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, managed nearly 210,000 flights (209,856) in April 2025, almost 6% (5.9%) more than in the same month in 2024, a record year.
In the first four months of 2025, ENAIRE managed over 710,000 flights, 6.2% more than in the same period in 2024
In April, overflights (flights that do not depart from or arrive at a Spanish airport) totalled 48,449, 9.4% more than in the same month last year. International flights (122,422) increased by 7.5%, although domestic flights (38,985) fell by 2.5%.
This growth in air traffic in Spain in April exceeds by 0.7 percentage points the European average, which stands at 5.2%, and is 13.4 percentage points higher compared to the same month in 2019 (before the COVID pandemic), which was at 1.1%.
All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed of more than 4%: Seville recorded 48,482 flights (+8.1%); Canary Islands, 35,522 (+7.6%); Barcelona, 100,439 (+7.1%); Madrid, 113,940 (+5.7%); and Palma, 32,395 (+4.8%).

In the first four months of the year, ENAIRE managed over 710,000 flights (714,241), 6.2% more than in the same period in 2024. Overflights between January and April (171,065) increased by 8.1%; international flights (398,395) by 7.6%, and domestic flights (144,781) by 0.6%.
This growth in air traffic in Spain so far this year exceeds the European average, which is 4.4%, by 1.8percentage points, and is 17.9 percentage points higher compared to the same period in 2019, which was -2.5%.
All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed of more than 5%: Barcelona, 315,067, 8.6% more than in 2024; Seville, 171,907, 7.4% more; Canary Islands, 147,584, 6.7% more; Madrid, 411,402, 5.0% more; and Palma, 76,283, 5.0% more.
