ENAIRE managed over 240,000 flights in July, 3.5% more than in 2024, a record year

ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, managed over 240,000 flights (244,356) in July of 2025, 3.5% more than in the same month in 2024, a record year. 

The Barcelona Control Centre managed the most flights: 126,869 in the month 

In July, there were 146,549 international flights, 4.5% more than in the same month in the previous year. Overflights (54,114), which do not land at or depart from a Spanish airport, went up by 4.5%, and domestic flights (43,693) fell by 0.8%. 

This growth in air traffic in Spain in July compared to 2024 exceeded the European average, which was 2.9%, by 0.6 percentage points. Compared to 2019 (before the COVID pandemic), flights managed by ENAIRE exceed the European average by 10.4 points (10.7% increase in Spain and 0.3% in Europe). 

All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed in July: the Canary Islands registered 35,947 flights (+6.5%); Seville, 53,725 (+5.4%); Madrid, 123,583 (+4.6%); Barcelona, 126,869 (+3.1%); and Palma, 51,959 (+1.0%). 

Cumulative data for 2025 

In the first seven months of the year, ENAIRE managed over 1.4 million flights (1,411,789), 5.2% more than in the same period in 2024. Overflights between January and February (325,248) increased by 6.7%; international flights (815,306) by 6.4% and domestic flights (271,235) by 0.4%. 

This growth in air traffic in Spain so far this year exceeds the European average, which is 3.7%, by 1.5 percentage points. Compared to 2019, flights managed by ENAIRE exceed the European average by 15.1 points (14.0% increase in Spain and -1.1% in Europe). 

All ENAIRE control centres have seen an increase in the number of flights managed so far this year: Seville, 325,603, 6.9% more than in 2024; Barcelona, 672,052, 6.3% more; Canary Islands, 249,465, 6.3% more; Madrid, 769,481, 4.9% more; and Palma, 215,694, 2.9% more.
