With a degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Ms Sánchez Sanz has been an official with the Corps of State Civil Engineers since 2007.
She discharged various functions at the Directorate-General for Roads, most recently as general assistant manager for Conservation and technical director.
She is currently the Government Sub-Delegate for national toll road concessionaire companies.
She has been a board member of the State Company for Land Transport Infrastructures and for INECO, the engineering and transport economics public company.
