José María Luna Aguilar

Born in Marbella in 1963, José María Luna Aguilar is the director of the public agency that manages the Picasso Birthplace Museum and other museums and cultural facilities (Russian Museum and Pompidou Centre collections) belonging to Malaga City Council.
He has a degree in philosophy and the arts from the University of Malaga, where he majored in art history. He has a master’s in cultural management from the University of Granada.
Mr Luna Aguilar has been the director of the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation in Granada and the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engravings in Marbella (Malaga province).
He is a civil servant with Marbella City Council and is presently working on Malaga City Council’s Services Committee.
