ENAIRE, Spain's air navigation service provider, managed over 170,000 flights (171,828) in November, 8.4% more than in the same month in 2023, a record year.
International flights in November (94,870) were up by 10.5%, domestic flights (36,482) 6.4%, and overflights (40,476), which do not land at or depart from a Spanish airport, 5.4%.
This growth in air traffic in Spain in November exceeds by almost 4 percentage points (3.8%) the European average, which stands at 4.6%, and is 20 percentage points higher (19.9%) compared to the same month in 2019 (before the COVID pandemic), which was at -3.8%.
All ENAIRE control centres registered an increase in the number of flights managed of more than 6%: Palma recorded 15,458 flights (+13.5%); Seville, 42,652 (+11.0%); Canary Islands, 37,951 (+10.1%); Barcelona, 72,446 (+9.3%); and Madrid, 101,265 (+6.9%).

In the first eleven months of the year, ENAIRE managed nearly 2.2 million flights (2,184,432), 7.7% more than in the same period in 2023. International flights from January to November (1,259,581) rose by 9.6%, overflights (494,813) by 5.5% and domestic flights (430,038) by 4.9%.
This growth in air traffic in Spain so far this year exceeds the European average, which is 5.2%, by 2.5 percentage points, and is 13.1 percentage points higher compared to the same period in 2019, which was -3.9%.
The cumulative data for the year also show that all ENAIRE control centres registered an increase (of over 5%) in the number of flights managed: Canary Islands, 374,075, 8.8% more than in 2023; Barcelona, 1,045,253, 8.6% more; Seville, 494,004, 8.1% more; Madrid, 1,179,590, 7.1% more; and Palma, 357,274, 5.8% more.
