The iTEC members—comprising the air navigation service providers of Germany (DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung), Norway (Avinor), Lithuania (Oro Navigacija), Poland (PANSA), the Netherlands (LVNL), Spain (ENAIRE), the United Kingdom (NATS), Canada (NAV Canada), and with INDRA as a technology partner—decided in 2021 to launch the iTEC SkyNex programme.
iTEC SkyNex
The Alliance driving more efficient, safe, and sustainable aviation.
At the heart of the iTEC Alliance is a commitment to a more efficient, safe, and sustainable aviation system. Based on a strong spirit of collaboration among its originally European members, the Alliance has extended its reach globally, continuing its cooperative efforts to develop the next generation of air traffic management systems with a worldwide vision.
The iTEC collaboration oversees more than 26 million square kilometres of airspace in some of the most congested regions of the world, managing over 12 million flights per year from 27 control centres. This partnership also enables the operation of transoceanic flights using unified end-to-end technology, demonstrating the clear benefits of this collaboration.
iTEC SkyNex—the Alliance’s unique system—will be flexible and interoperable thanks to the combined expertise and innovation of its members. It will strengthen synergies between service providers and industry, providing a common technology for air traffic management.
The system will significantly improve efficiency, provide more accurate data, optimise flight routes and resources, and help reduce delays and CO₂ emissions, while substantially lowering costs.
A better future for aviation is on the horizon with iTEC SkyNex. Its cutting-edge technology represents a true revolution in air traffic management, pushing boundaries, achieving previously unattainable goals, and paving the way for safer and more sustainable skies.
Together, we are making it possible, working as a single team.
