Commitment to sustainability
As a key player in the air navigation sector, and fully aware of the current and future challenges facing air transport, ENAIRE embeds sustainability at every level of the organisation. Through an organisation-wide approach involving all areas of the business, it contributes to social, environmental and economic development while promoting the positive impact of its activity and fostering ethical, transparent conduct.
This commitment, which goes beyond legal compliance, is clearly set out in our Sustainability Policy.
ENAIRE is committed to the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption, and integrates the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda into its strategy and operations, measuring the contribution of Flight Plan 2030 to the SDG targets. ENAIRE contributes in particular to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
ENAIRE also contributes to the preparation of the Spanish Government's Progress Reports and sits on UNE Committee 343 on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Management Systems, helping to shape Spain's position on the development of ISO 53001, which will set out the requirements for a UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) management system.
In 2025, we renewed our commitment to the protocol with the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda to promote the 2030 Agenda in public-sector companies, a group in which ENAIRE held the Vice-Presidency in 2022.
We are also members of leading organisations in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability:
- Spanish Global Compact Network
- Forética, where we take part in the Transparency and Good Governance, Social Impact and Climate Change Clusters, and in the Sustainability and CSR in Public Companies Action Group.
Drawing on contributions from all areas of the company, and in a spirit of transparency about the impact of our activity, we produce ENAIRE Sustainability Report. It reflects the organisation's social, environmental and economic efforts to contribute to sustainable development, meet stakeholders' expectations, and progressively align with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
