Environmental assessment
Environmental assessment is essential to protect the environment, ensuring prevention and mitigation of impacts arising from infrastructure and airspace projects. In compliance with Law 21/2013 of 9 December on environmental assessment, ENAIRE analyses the environmental effects of its projects before approving them. Likewise, Royal Decree 310/2022 of 3 May states that the modification of civil flight procedures must undergo an environmental impact assessment when applicable (Royal Decree 310/2022 of 3 May, which completes the legal framework for the approval of airspace changes and civil flight procedures).
Thus, in order to ensure compliance with all conditions set out in each Environmental Statement, ENAIRE formally verifies compliance with the required conditions before the environmental authority.
