ENAIRE and the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) have agreed to collaborate to support the training and preparation of Spanish Paralympic athletes through the Paralympic Sports Support Plan (ADOP).
The agreement covers the Spanish Team at the Winter Paralympic Games held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina. It will also be key for preparing for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, in addition to specialising in a specific sport, climbing, which will make its Paralympic debut in the US city, through the ENAIRE Promising Paralympic Climbing Team.
The ADOP Plan is an initiative of the Sports Council, the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030, the Ministry of Finance, and the Spanish Paralympic Committee, aimed at providing Paralympic athletes with the best conditions to prepare for participation in the Paralympic Games.
ENAIRE’s sponsorship contributions are used to provide interdisciplinary support services, talent identification and Paralympic performance programmes, as well as initiatives that promote employment inclusion and vocational training for people with disabilities through sport.
Through this sponsorship agreement, the national air navigation manager reaffirms its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact (joined in 2018), applying universal ethical values and principles to its corporate strategy.
ENAIRE opts for one of the alternatives established in Royal Decree 364/2025 to comply with the so-called “reserve quota”, which requires Spanish companies with 50 or more employees to have people with disabilities make up at least 2% of their workforce.
In addition, ENAIRE contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in Agenda 2030 as a key pillar of its corporate social responsibility strategy.
For the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, and President of ENAIRE, José Antonio Santano, “this agreement represents an opportunity to promote Paralympic sport on its path to excellence, reinforcing ENAIRE’s commitment to inclusion, diversity, and support for projects that generate a positive impact on society”.
It is worth noting that ENAIRE has, to date, published three grant calls since 2019 for projects aimed at creating jobs for people with disabilities and integrating them into the workforce. These three calls, totalling €2.1 million, have funded 34 projects carried out by foundations and public-interest associations, benefiting more than 2,600 people, with over 1,350 job placements achieved to date.
Alberto Durán, President of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, welcomed ENAIRE as a new member of the Paralympic Family, coinciding with one of the highlights of the Paralympic movement: the Winter Games in Milan Cortina. Durán expressed his gratitude to the state-owned company for its contribution, while also congratulating it for choosing to link its brand to the values that are so brilliantly embodied by elite athletes with disabilities.
