ENAIRE, the Spanish air navigation service provider, has opened registration for the seventh Master’s in Air Navigation Services Management. The deadline to apply is 1 June. This marks the start of a new enrolment process for this training programme, which was developed jointly with Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, in accordance with the TRAINAIR PLUS standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The Master’s is primarily aimed at international air navigation service providers and other organisations in the sector — airlines, airport operators, regulators and supervisory bodies, military authorities, weather service providers, technology firms and consultancies — as well as graduates looking to enter the field and ENAIRE professionals.
Classes for this new intake start on 8 September 2026 and run until June. The 2026/2027 course concludes with the submission of the Master’s thesis in November 2027.
A pioneering, one-of-a-kind programme
It is the only specialised Master’s in air navigation services management offered in academia or the aviation industry. By combining classroom learning with real-world case studies, students gain a clear management orientation, with particular emphasis on strategy and on developing leadership and decision-making skills.
The programme also develops critical thinking, equipping students to tackle problems in a sector that is constantly evolving.
In 2025, ENAIRE received an ICAO award for this kind of university partnership, recognising its work in education and its contribution to developing aviation professionals worldwide. This international recognition is a testament to the organisation’s commitment to training the next generation of leaders and managers in air navigation.
The Master’s can be taken online or in person, depending on student preference. In-person classes are held at ENAIRE’s Madrid offices, typically on two afternoons a week and one Friday a month. This format includes module-related extras such as visits to ENAIRE facilities and ATC units, plus networking opportunities with senior management.
In the online format, students can access live streams of the in-person classes, or view them later via the e-learning platform.
Discounts for companies in the sector
As part of its commitment to developing talent and promoting excellence in aviation, ENAIRE offers dedicated discounts to companies in the industry to help their professionals access highly specialised training. This initiative further establishes the Master’s in Air Navigation Services Management as a leading programme for training the professionals who are driving aviation forward, keeping key skills current and bridging classroom learning with day-to-day operations.
International scholarships in collaboration with ICAO
ENAIRE is also reaffirming its commitment to developing air transport worldwide and to the principles of international cooperation championed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) through its “No Country Left Behind” initiative. ENAIRE is offering four international scholarships, administered jointly with ICAO, for professionals from developing countries to take the Master’s in Air Navigation Services Management. This initiative is part of the joint ENAIRE–ICAO training programme for developing countries, designed to strengthen their technical and management capacity and to promote safe, sustainable and inclusive civil aviation worldwide.
