ENAIRE, Spain's national air navigation service provider, this morning received renewed certification from AENOR for its Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) certifications. ENAIRE has also renewed its National Security Framework certificate (Royal Decree 311/2022).
The certificate presentation took place at ENAIRE’s head office in Madrid at an event attended by ENAIRE’s Director General, Enrique Maurer, and AENOR’s Director for the Madrid Region, David de Pastors.
“This recognition reflects something that is in our DNA and part of our everyday work: a commitment to safety, quality and sustainability in everything we do,” said Enrique Maurer.
“Our Integrated Management System has been helping us move forward in an orderly and consistent way for years, and these results show that we are heading in the right direction. The renewal of these certificates shows that we remain on the right track, adapting to an increasingly demanding and constantly evolving environment,” said ENAIRE's Director General.
Maurer also wished to say a few words to the ENAIRE team involved in the audits, who were present at the event. “Your daily work—often quiet, but always essential—is what ensures these systems are not just a formal framework but a living reality that adds value to the organisation,” he stressed.
The Director General of ENAIRE also thanked AENOR for its support throughout this time, highlighting its audit work and the value it brings in helping to identify improvements and introduce good practices that strengthen the organisation's systems.
David de Pastors, Director General of AENOR Confía—which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year—highlighted the work carried out by ENAIRE, an organisation that is key to the public interest and that makes innovation, sustainability and safety the pillars of its work. “This recognition demonstrates the trust that society can place in ENAIRE as a guarantee of essential services delivered to the highest standards of quality, environmental care and information security,” he said.

Objectives set out in Flight Plan 2030
The renewal of these certifications reinforces ENAIRE's leadership, in line with the values set out in Flight Plan 2030, and reflects its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in the management of all its services.
Specifically, the Quality Management System certification improves the management of ENAIRE's processes and the resilience of the services it provides in addressing structural capacity challenges, thereby meeting the expectations of customers and stakeholders.
The Environmental Management System certification, in turn, underlines ENAIRE's firm commitment to environmental sustainability and protecting the natural environment. The measures implemented help create value for society by improving airspace efficiency, optimising energy consumption, strengthening operational efficiency and driving the decarbonisation of its activity, thereby minimising the organisation's environmental impact.
Certification of compliance with Royal Decree 311/2022, which governs the National Security Framework, attests to ENAIRE's firm commitment to the ongoing protection and improvement of Information Security across all its essential services. This covers both operational systems (air traffic control, drone management, communications, navigation, surveillance, flight plans and aeronautical information) and corporate management and support systems (technical support and operational systems, network monitoring and other corporate tools, both internal and external).
